Madhubala was born Mumtaz Jehan Begum Dehlavi, on 14 February 1933 (Valentine’s Day) in Delhi. Her father, Attaullah Khan was a musician. He married Ayesha Begum. His daughter Mumtaz Jehan, later to be known as Madhubala, was a most beautiful actress of Indian cinema.
Her popular and famous film was K Asif’s Mughal-e-Azam opposite Dilip Kumar. This film was released on 5 August 1960, and became the most successful on Box office.
